Sitting on my front veranda soaking up the Sunday sun, I now feel the weight of all the creative energy and effort from the past few weeks lulling me into a post exhibition opening slumber.
To do lists late nights Thought processes Display ideas Promo Artist’s statement Catalogue Making Working Family There is a lot that goes into putting an exhibition together, (including all the workspace tidying I need to do now!). I didn’t achieve this all on my own, I had lots of help. For a small country town, we are fortunate to have spaces and support for creative events. These spaces provide opportunity and possibility. Opportunity for artists and crafts people to create, showcase, promote and sell their work. Opportunity for the community to create and participate in events that provide leisure activities, workshops, employment and social occasions that can help ease isolation and improve general wellbeing. The possibilities are endless. It’s up to all of us to use our imagination by supporting and making the most of these spaces. A big shout out to Pegboard Gallery, which is found at Freckles Coffee Spot in Baradine and to Ella and Will, the young couple who have taken on, not only a new business challenge, but who have also created an amazing gallery space, local creative hub and arts internship for a local student, (lucky Cia!). They are also skilled creators in their own right! Get to Baradine and check it out, book in your own exhibition, workshop or event and have a coffee or lunch too! Celebrate the inspiring people around you. Life is what we make it. Realising our dreams is possible everyday.
